The IT Department cannot afford to spend excessive amounts of time supervising students internet usage. With a less restrictive internet policy there are potential for more abuses from students when trying to view adult material online, while the majority of sites are blocked there are exceptions. When they are observed by IT viewing such content the following will apply:
- After a behavior check report is filed:
- On the first offense the internet will be revoked for 1 week.
- On the second offense the internet will be revoked until IT is directed to re-enable it for the student from the residential dept.
- On the third offense the student will loose all free time internet & e-mail access for the remainder of the school year.
- Complet loss of internet privileges and/or possible other disciplinary actions.
These will be strictly enforced by the IT dept. and may cause teachers and other staff to make other resources available to the students in order to complete some assignments, however under NO circumstance should the student be allowed to use the excuse of “I can’t do my work because my internet was taken away.”
Any exceptions to this policy must be direct to Joe Viscomi
